We are a small school by design. Class sizes are capped to small student-teacher ratio to ensure your child has the attention of their teacher and opportunities for deep work, conversations and exploration. A conversation with us before an application is not just welcome, it is required. We are keen to ensure families fully understand what ELC is, and what it is not.
Who ELC is for?
ELC suits children who are curious, who benefit from space to work at their own pace, and whose families feel aligned with our scientific approach to learning. We hope our foundational philosophies remain consistent for the child at school and at home. Again, the best way to see if we’re the right choice for your child is a heart-to-heart conversation with us.

Get to know us.
The next step is a visit — to see how children use the ELC environment to learn, explore and grow. Speak with our coordinators and schedule a session where you and your child can meet our teachers. These interactions help us understand your child, and start the relationship honestly.
Submit an application
Applications are accepted for all stages from Playgroup through Grade 7. Complete the application form for your child's stage. Applications to be written and submitted at the school.
A meeting of minds
Once we have reviewed your application, you will be invited to the school for a conversation with our coordinators and team of teachers. This is not an interview of the child — it is a meeting of minds between the school and the family.
Spend a Day at ELC
Give your child a glimpse of life here by spending a day in our learning environment — the rhythm of a day, hands-on work, an experiment, art, a story, and the room to discover something. Our teachers spend that time with your child, so that both of you get a real feel for what is waiting.
